Job Description:

To work within a team to ensure an efficient and professional delivery of corporate and personal insolvency services to clients.

Key duties and responsibilities

* Responsible for a mixed case load of formal insolvency appointments, and assisting others within the team
* Administer insolvency cases from initial advice to case closure, including Administrations, CVLs, MVLs, Liquidations, CVAs, and occasionally, Bankruptcies
* Address and adjudicate creditors’ claims, including retention of title, secured, preferential, and unsecured claims
* Report to secured creditors
* Assist team in continuing to trade on-site where required
* Prepare documentation for statutory meetings
* Assist employees with claims and liaise with redundancy payments service
* Handle day-to-day correspondence, including non-standard correspondence
* Maintain accurate books and records inventories, and ensure their safekeeping and storage from company premises
* Conduct statutory investigations and pursue antecedent transactions
* Complete banking and cheque request forms to handle estate monies correctly
* Complete VAT and Corporation tax returns
* Adhere to statutory compliance and current legislation, including SIPS
* Maintain and update IPS case tasks/diaries
* Instruct and liaise with professional agents, solicitors, and accountants
* Prepare supporting documents for sale contracts
* Update and maintain case checklists
* Attend and assist at meetings both in and out of the office when required
* Participate in marketing events as required
* Delegate work and provide training and support to junior staff

Reporting, relationships & management

* Support other staff, including training and delegation to assistants
* Assist other case executives where required
* Report on case progress to IP

Qualifications & experience

* AAT or CPI qualification advantageous but not mandatory
* Experience with corporate formal insolvency appointments within an IP firm required
* Knowledge of IPS Cloud advantageous but not mandatory
* Good IT skills, including Excel, Word, and IPS
* Maintain high professional standards
* Self-motivated and proactive about updates in legislation and best practices
* Organized, efficient, and flexible in managing time
* Good communication skills and professional manner
* Responsible for work quality and deadlines
* Keep IP updated on case progress and issues
* Enthusiastic and committed to completing tasks
* Promote the firm positively at networking events
