There is a mix of office NP15 1GA, USK and hybrid working

Role is full time 37 hours
Responsibilities & Key Duties:
* Undertake a range of duties in connection with the assessment and planning of services for children, young people, and families.
* Possess high-quality professional social work knowledge and skills.
* Have a good knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relevant for working with children and families.
* Manage a caseload including complex and diverse cases, assessments, reviews, and report preparation.
* Present information confidently in formal meetings and at court.
* Provide support and advice for children, young people, their families, and carers in a flexible and imaginative way.
* Complete quality assessments, analyzing strengths and risks.
* Formulate and implement plans to meet assessed needs, safeguard children, and increase parental and carer resilience.
* Undertake office duties and respond to crises as required.
* Work as part of a team and contribute to service development.
* Supervise Social Work students if willing.
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with foster carers and partner agencies.
* Develop professional skills through supervision and training.
* Stay updated on legislation and policies, incorporating changes into practice.
* Maintain accurate, up-to-date records.
* Work flexibly to undertake tasks not specifically covered in this description.
* Maintain safe working practices in accordance with the authority’s health and safety policies.
Person Specification:
* Recognized Social Work qualification.
* Knowledge of current legislative frameworks and policies.
* Understanding of child development, protection theories, attachment theory, and issues related to looked after children, children in need, and child protection.
* Experience in statutory fieldwork with complex family situations, report writing, and partnership working.
* Strong communication, assessment, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and within a team, managing conflicts and prioritizing tasks.
* Commitment to professional development, service user involvement, and equality policies.
* Current full driving license, access to a car, and a current enhanced DBS check.
* Registered as a Social Worker with the Care Council for Wales.
