About Us:
Regeneration, Economy and Planning in Westminster City Council is a world of extraordinary stories, where small actions can significantly impact people's lives.
For example, Mitin, our Head of Estates Services, oversees cleaning, gardening, and refuse removal across housing estates, emphasizing human contact and community care. His team uses technology to address issues like fly tipping and graffiti, and they engage with residents to improve their environment and wellbeing.
The Role:
As a Planning Officer, you will contribute to the Place Shaping and Town Planning Services team, working with partners and the community to maintain Westminster as a world-class place. Your responsibilities include handling planning applications, appeals, pre-application inquiries, and providing advice as a One Stop Duty Officer. You will need confidence, tact, and strong stakeholder management skills to navigate complex issues and influence applicants and stakeholders.
Refer to the Job Description for more details.
About You:
This role suits a recent graduate or someone with experience in development management, capable of handling applications, negotiations, and appeals. You should have excellent communication skills, a relevant degree, and the ability to manage relationships with residents, businesses, and contractors.
Westminster City Council supports Care Leavers and encourages applications from diverse backgrounds. If you declare a disability, you are guaranteed an interview if you meet the essential criteria, and reasonable adjustments will be provided.
