Overview
Clinical Support Worker - Prison Primary Care role focused on delivering a high standard of support to the nursing team, while also working autonomously within competencies. The role serves a population with complex mental health, physical, psychological, substance misuse and social problems, with emphasis on security procedures within the prison setting. The post is part of a multidisciplinary team aiming to improve physical and mental health and wellbeing, support rehabilitation, and contribute to offender outcomes by providing high quality, efficient care to patients at their point of need.
The ability to demonstrate high quality, person-centred care and effective team working is essential, with a keenness to develop practice through appropriate clinical and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
* Deliver day-to-day high-quality support to the nursing team and patients within the prison healthcare setting.
* Work autonomously within your competencies while maintaining safety and security procedures.
* Contribute to the MDT with a focus on improving physical and mental health outcomes and patient wellbeing.
* Support clinicians in providing high quality, effective and efficient care to individual patients.
* Demonstrate person-centred care and collaborate effectively with colleagues to support patient care across the healthcare journey.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Previous relevant experience in healthcare.
* SVQ3 or relevant healthcare experience.
* Competency in Venepuncture.
* Must be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
