About the role
We are a specialist engineering consultancy delivering turnkey mechanical structures for aviation, defence, and space. You will take the lead on structural substantiation, producing high-quality stress documentation that demonstrates compliance to the relevant regulations. You will also support testing, customer engagements, and internal quality checks across multiple programmes.
What you will do
* Produce stress reports to show compliance with applicable structural requirements.
* Create and review structural test plans and test reports. Observe and support test activities.
* Visit customer sites and participate in airframe surveys.
* Check colleagues' stress reports and FE models for accuracy and completeness.
* Contribute to quotations, project planning, training, and customer liaison as needed.
What you bring
* MEng or BEng in Engineering, or equivalent.
* 4+ years of relevant structural analysis experience.
* Ability to lead projects with minimal oversight and deliver to consistent standards.
* Strong first-principles capability for hand calculations in stress and strain.
* Knowledge of metallic and non-metallic material behaviour and failure modes.
* Working knowledge of EASA Part 21J and Certification Specifications, especially CS-25, CS-27, CS-29, and FAR or JAR equivalents.
* Proficiency reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings.
* Competence with engineering toolsets such as Mathcad and MSC One, plus MS Office apps including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
* Clear, confident communicator who can integrate into multi-disciplinary teams and work independently to develop creative solutions.
* Committed to staying current with emerging technologies and best practice.
