Are you a people person who loves the buzz of hospitality, with a flair for planning events, weddings and keeping things running smoothly day to day? We're looking for an Events & Duty Manager to join our friendly team here at The Seacote Hotel.
This is a salaried position with flexibility for the right person. It offers a great mix of event planning, guest-facing service, and leadership support across the hotel. We are willing to consider part or full time for this role but estimate a minimum of 28 hours per week.
What You'll Be Doing:
Events
* Managing weddings, private parties, and events with a calm, professional approach and an eye for detail. Helping couples and clients bring their vision to life
* Hitting sales targets by building great relationships with new and returning clients.
* Coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to make sure everything runs without a hitch.
* Working closely with the management team to plan budgets, promotions, and sales strategies.
* Being present on the big days, coordinating with suppliers and staff to ensure everything goes off without a hitch.
Duty Management
* Covering two regular Duty Manager shifts per week, plus some night cover and keyholder responsibilities to cover colleague absences.
* Working closely with the hotel management team to make sure daily operations are smooth, safe, and guest-focused.
* Overseeing and assisting with room set up prior to events.
* Being a visible, supportive presence across reception, bar, and restaurant areas. Our managers are hands on, working shifts alongside colleagues as needed.
* Leading by example, offering support and guidance to team members, and ensuring exceptional service at all times.
* Handling any guest issues or team challenges with confidence and care.
What We're Looking For:
* Experience in events, hospitality, or hotel operations. We have a civil ceremony licence so understanding of legislation is required. Support in transition of roles will be offered.
* A proactive, positive attitude, someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and solving problems.
* Comfortable using Microsoft Office and hotel booking systems. Experience with RezControl advantageous, but training and support will be given
* Calm under pressure, great at multitasking, and confident managing teams or stepping into different roles as needed.
* Flexible and reliable. Happy to work evenings, weekends, or overnight cover occasionally.
