Accounts Assistant required for our Poole based manufacturing client currently in growth. A diverse and interesting role much than just processing, it would suit someone who is keen to learn and develop their skills more to support the Finance Manager. Manufacturing experience would be an advantage but not essential. Working in a very small team, you will be responsible for all the transactional finance functions for the company including:
Key tasks
Accounts Payable, match, batch and code, payment runs, reconcile statements, expenses, supplier queries
Banking, reconcile accounts (GBP, USD, Euro), process all credit card payments
Accounts Receivable, upload sales invoices, issue monthly statement of accounts, monitor AR balances and follow up overdue accounts
Payroll, collate and validate weekly overtime, reconcile sickness and holiday absences, prepare monthly payroll information for payroll bureau
Month End, reconcile all balance sheet control accounts, investigate discrepancies, process accruals and prepayments, run month end for stock valuation and WIP calculations
Other duties, assist with year-end close, assist with annual audit, assist the Finance Manager with ad hoc tasks
Qualifications and experience
AAT qualified or studying, solid qualified by experience background will be considered
Knowledge of Xero an advantage but not essential
Knowledge of manufacturing software an advantage
Experience of payroll preparation an advantage but not essential as will be trained
Detailed understanding of transactional bookkeeping
Computer literacy to include developed skills in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Excellent verbal, written, telephone, interpersonal and organisational skills
Ability to follow processes and procedures
Ability to multitask, manage variable workloads and prioritise effectively
Accuracy and attention to detail
The role is fully office based. It can be 30 hours (4 days) or 37.5 hours per week. 25 days holiday + bank holidays, company sick pay, life assurance, pension, social events and on-site parking.
