Morson Edge are recruiting on behalf of a leading aerospace and defence client for a Project Analyst to join their FP&A Project Performance team in Portsmouth. This role offers the opportunity to work in a complex, project-driven environment, supporting the effective and profitable delivery of high-value customer projects.
As a Project Analyst, you will partner closely with programme teams and Finance Business Partners, acting as a trusted finance advisor and delivering high-quality financial insight, forecasting, reporting, and control across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities Deliver Project Finance support across the full project lifecycle, from setup and forecasting through to reporting and close-out.
Produce accurate and timely month-end management and project reporting, providing clear financial analysis and insight.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities in collaboration with Finance Business Partners and project teams.
Provide financial modelling and analysis to support bids, business cases, and key decision-making.
Ensure robust financial controls, governance, and compliance with finance policies, supporting internal and external audits.
Drive continuous improvement through finance modernisation initiatives, digital reporting, and data-driven ways of working.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Knowledge & Experience
Experience in Project Finance with strong forecasting and financial reporting capability.
Knowledge of IFRS / GAAP, including IFRS 15 revenue recognition.
Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
Experience using ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Infor LN) and financial reporting or analytics tools.
Qualifications
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience.
