About the Role
Batty and Dexter Opticians, an award-winning independent practice, is seeking a highly experienced and proactive Senior Optical Assistant to join our close-knit team and play a key role in driving excellence in patient care and practice operations.
Key Responsibilities:
7. Provide senior leadership within the front-of-house team, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of clinics
8. Take ownership of improving workflows, patient journey touchpoints, and overall service delivery
9. Offer expert, tailored advice to patients on frame and lens options, utilising your extensive product knowledge
10. Lead the training, mentoring, and development of junior staff members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
11. Manage key operational tasks such as appointment scheduling, inventory control, and compliance with data protection policies
12. Act as a point of escalation for patient queries and concerns, ensuring prompt and professional resolution
13. Champion the practice’s values by maintaining the highest standards of patient care and professionalism
14. Build and nurture strong community relationships, acting as a respected ambassador for Batty and Dexter Opticians
Candidate Profile:
15. Significant prior experience as an Optical Assistant, ideally with some supervisory or leadership exposure
16. A confident communicator with a warm, professional manner and excellent interpersonal skills
17. Proactive and strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to improve processes and drive service excellence
18. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple responsibilities effectively
19. A collaborative team player.
20. Flexibility to work Saturdays is essential
