As a Senior Electrical Building Services Engineer you will be a key part of the Building Services Engineering Team, working on multidisciplinary projects whilst being supported by Graduate Electrical Services Engineers and Technicians. You will be part of a team of over 25 Engineers and Technicians in the Leeds office and a wider 400+ Engineers and Technicians within the North region.
The Role Will See You
* Play an active role in all stages of our projects from feasibility through to completion across a range of sectors, including commercial, residential, education, rail, hospitality, energy, sport, health and mixed‑use developments.
* Apply your engineering expertise to shape our projects, moving them towards net zero carbon.
* Work in an interdisciplinary environment to design buildings that maximise value for our clients whilst minimising their environmental impact.
* Provide leadership to the MEP team on a portfolio of projects locally, nationally and internationally, ensuring correct technical approaches are applied and carried out appropriately.
* Utilise your project management skills and take responsibility for the financial performance of the projects, including liaising with clients on fees and commercial matters.
* Effectively oversee total project delivery by enabling efficient team management and delegation to ensure the satisfactory delivery of multiple complex projects, reporting to the Project Director.
* Play a part in the ongoing digital transformation of our business, seeking new ways to increase efficiency through automation and to offer new services through our integrated digital approach to design.
Is this role right for you?
We Are Seeking a Candidate Who
* Is a Chartered Engineer (or has aspirations to become Chartered via IET or CIBSE) with a strong background in electrical building services design; proficient in lighting, power, distribution, fire alarms, security and data/communications systems.
* Has proven experience managing and delivering design projects within a consultancy environment; values quality and enjoys delivering.
* Is familiar with working within a BIM environment using Revit and electrical design tools such as Amtech, Dialux and Relux.
* Has strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with clients; committed to professional development, including mentoring junior engineers and technicians, and passionate about sustainable building design and innovation.
* Can demonstrate strong commercial awareness and a solid track record of delivering high‑quality, technically excellent electrical designs and innovative solutions in the built environment.
