Are you a science graduate or an experienced lab technician looking for school-based roles? We are recruiting Science Lab Technicians to work in secondary schools across Sheffield and Barnsley, starting in September 2025.
These are temporary contracts available on a short-term and long-term basis, ideal for individuals with a strong science background who are passionate about supporting science education.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, set up, and maintain science equipment and materials for practical lessons.
*
Support teachers and students during experiments in biology, chemistry, and physics.
*
Ensure all health & safety standards are met in the science lab.
*
Manage lab inventory, resources, and chemical supplies.
*
Assist with general laboratory upkeep and organisation.
Candidate Requirements:
*
Minimum of GCSE and A-Level Science qualifications (Essential).
*
A science-related degree (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Physics) is preferred but not required.
*
Prior experience as a lab technician in a school or educational setting is desirable.
*
Strong organisational skills and a hands-on, proactive attitude.
*
Must hold or be willing to obtain a valid Enhanced DBS check.
