About the opportunity
At Boots, we are at the forefront of innovation in community pharmacy, working in partnership with the NHS, the Government, and local communities. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a key role in leading the pharmacy team to provide a trusted service. With checking capability, you'll have opportunities to develop your skills, progress your career, or continue offering excellent service to your community with ongoing CPD.
Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Providing expert, tailored advice to patients about medicines, products, or Macmillan Cancer Support.
2. Delivering various services depending on store needs.
3. Building strong relationships with your pharmacy team; coaching and inspiring them to deliver high standards of care.
4. Assisting with patient triage and prescription distribution.
5. Making legal, safe, and ethical decisions in the pharmacy.
6. Managing operational tasks like stock replenishment, workload management, order fulfilment, and handling controlled drugs, ensuring patient safety.
7. Completing a recognised training, such as Buttercups, or the Boots 6-week Accuracy Checking Programme if not already qualified in accuracy checking.
What you’ll need to have
* Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC and willingness to complete our 6-week training to qualify for checking prescriptions.
* A passion for coaching and leading a dispensary team.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Motivation to improve services for teams, customers, and patients.
* A desire to deliver outstanding patient care.
* Ability to use pharmacy systems and technology.
It would be great if you also have
* Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician with checking capability (training provided if not).
