As a Senior Radiographer/Mammographer at our hospital, you’ll bring advanced technical knowledge and the ability to work quickly and accurately. You have a great eye for detail and you’re caring by nature. As well as a BSC degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent), you have a postgraduate qualification in an area of specialisation. As a Senior Radiographer/Mammographer, you will: • Have a BSC degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent) • A postgraduate qualification and/or high levels of technical knowledge (desirable) • Have an understanding and empathetic approach to patients and staff alike • Be respectful towards all individuals, including staff, patients and visitors • Have a proactive and forward-thinking approach to work • Ensure a service of the highest quality is delivered with sensitivity and compassion • Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork abilities Main duties and responsibilities: • Deliver a high-quality diagnostic imaging service for a varied caseload. • Be highly proficient in the use of all equipment within scope of practice. • Work with leading practitioners and cutting-edge practices, equipment and facilities • Supervise and develop junior colleagues • To work within IRMER and own scope of practice, in accordance with the code of conduct set out by the HCPC. • Participate in departmental audits and Quality Assurance programme. • Provide support to the Clinical Lead Radiographers. • Ensure equipment is safe and fit for purpose and can report faults in line with Nuffield Health policy. • Competency in intravenous cannulation and administration of contrast media is essential. • Provide input to the review, update and implementation of departmental policy and procedural changes. • Comply with all Nuffield Health policies and procedures. • Ensure all records are maintained in line with statutory and organisational requirements.
