Overview

Bridport Community Mental Health Team is a well established multidisciplinary team made up of highly skilled mental health professionals. The team have a compassionate and proactive approach to patient care. The CMHT has strong links with the local community and are at the forefront of an increased number of joint working initiatives with primary care and the voluntary sector. This is an exciting time for Community Mental Health Teams across Dorset Healthcare due to the implementation of the transformation plan.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will be responsible for a caseload in the community, undertaking bio-psychosocial assessments, cover the duty rota and providing evidence-based interventions with their patients. If the postholder is a registered nurse, they will be rota\'d on to the Depot clinic and also support the nursing team with taking bloods and be part of managing the Clozaril Clinic.


Eligibility

Applications from candidates that require current Skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position.


DBS and employment details

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.

Person Specification


Knowledge, skills and training

* Registered Mental Nurse / Occupational Therapist/Social Worker
* Valid registration with NMC or equivalent body
* Evidence of continuous professional development


Job specific experience

* Able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care
* Competent with the safe administration of depot preparation injection technique
* The ability to prioritise and meet deadlines; organise work of self and others; supervising, teaching and assessing; self-motivated with the ability to motivate others; effective resource management


Business Travel

* Subject to the provisions of the Equality Act, able to travel using own vehicle on Trust business.


Additional requirements

* Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English to a standard which enables the post holder to carry out the full range of duties and responsibilities of the role effectively


Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
