We are looking for an Engineer Supervisor to support and supervise our Northwest regional engineers. This role is essential for providing day-to-day line management and performance support for our engineers whilst providing a key link between our office-based Operations and Accounts team and their in-field colleagues. The role will be split between 80% service engineer and 20% supervisor with 1 day per week dedicated to supervisory duties. This is a fully remote role and requires a full UK driving licence. This role will support the effective, efficient, and safe delivery of our client services by attending client sites to conduct planned and reactive maintenance. Our team of mobile engineers are supported by the account teams at Head Office to provide both reactive breakdown and planned maintenance services to our clients. Whilst this is our company standard working week, our clients require "out of hours" maintenance so early starts/late finishes & night works are to be expected. On Call - this role includes a 24 hour on call rota on a maximum 1 week in 4 schedule (Friday-Thursday) Skills, Experience & Qualifications: Essential: All essential criteria within relevant technical skillset - Gas, Air Conditioning, or Electrical A desire to lead and develop others Desirable: Vocational training courses relating to skillset or supervisory skills Previous exposure to skill set sector in a supervisory capacity Responsibilities include: Undertaking all aspects of skillset relevant installation, commission, fault finding, and maintenance including the service and repair of systems Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance in accordance with Thermatic's PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) and task schedules as directed by the Help Desk and/or management team Assess work allocation across your team to ensure that they are working efficiently and effectively. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and performance and feed this back to the account teams. Coach and support your team to deliver the best possible service, identifying solutions and improvement where necessary. Ensure that quality standards are upheld, and where they are not then these are addressed in a timely manner. Productivity reports to be reviewed and asses with team. Ensure contractual responsibilities are observed and delivered. Assist Account Manager with site work surveys and quoting. Ensure that excellent customer service is provided, and you are a role model across your teams. Complete all necessary checks and inspections as per scheduled on the company Audit and Inspection Log to ensure that our teams are safe, and our company is compliant. Collaborate with the operations teams to ensure that next steps identified are completed as appropriate and within the necessary timeframe. Coach and support engineers where concerns have been identified. Maintain safety standards, contribute to risk assessments, and ensure all team members including new starters have the adequate training. Engage with the HSE team and Technical Managers to ensure relevant toolbox talks are delivered to engineers monthly. Champion the reporting of hazards, accidents and near misses Create an inspiring, welcoming, and inclusive working environment for everyone. Act as buddy support for new starters, completing check ins at 4/8/12 weeks. Deliver clear communication across our teams on new initiatives, changes to targets and company news Act as the gatekeeper between engineers and the office, guide and support and resolve any issues or concerns where able and appropriate. Escalate concerns when necessary. Complete regular informal performance reviews, celebrate success and support under performance – feed back to the Account Directors on performance of your team. Spot talent/potential within your team. Play an active role in the development of your team, supporting them by providing honest feedback, coaching, and reviews.
