We have an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of waste services in the Ribble Valley.
We are seeking a team player who can plan and manage workloads, achieve results in a demanding environment, and is enthusiastic with a high level of self-motivation. The candidate should understand complex government legislation and work with the Head of Engineering to implement policies. The role involves working as part of a small team.
Role
Your primary focus will be on implementing the new Simpler Recycling Regulations, communicating with residents and businesses to support them through the changes, and maximizing recycling in the borough. Additionally, you will oversee the administration of the council’s commercial waste service and coordinate the production and interpretation of waste data. The successful candidate will have:
* Effective project management, data analysis, planning, organization, and coordination skills.
* Knowledge of legal requirements related to Waste Management and the Environmental Protection Act.
* A proactive approach to promoting environmental improvement, waste minimization, and recycling schemes.
* Awareness of industry-led changes and the ability to assist in implementing directives and guidance to ensure compliance.
A full UK driving license and access to a car are required.
