Brunch Chef – The Cats Pyjamas, Shrewsbury
Pay: £13.50 per hour + tips
Hours: 30–36+ hours per week (across 5 days)
Typical shifts: Generally 8:00am–5:00pm, with regular paid overtime available for evening events

We're an independent coffee shop and cafe in the heart of Shrewsbury known for great coffee, proper brunch and a busy, welcoming atmosphere. We care about quality, consistency and running a tight ship - no drama, just good food done well.
We're now looking for a solid, reliable Brunch Chef to join our kitchen team.
This is a hands-on role in a busy kitchen. It's fast-paced, physical at times, and requires focus. Experience in a kitchen environment is essential - you'll need to be confident working a section and maintaining standards under pressure.
The Role
You'll be responsible for:
* Preparing and cooking menu items to our standards
* Delivering consistent, high-quality dishes at pace
* Keeping the kitchen clean, organised, and well-prepped
* Planning ahead and staying on top of prep
* Supporting stock control and ordering
* Contributing to menu development
* Helping with KP duties when required (we're a small team and everyone pitches in)

* Proven experience in a kitchen environment (essential)
* Strong work ethic and reliability
* Ability to work calmly under pressure
* Clean, organised approach to your section
* Good communication and teamwork
* Pride in what you send out
This isn't a "stand around and plate up" role. We work hard, we support each other, and we expect standards to be met.
