Junior Sister / Junior Charge Nurse

An exciting opportunity for a secondment post for a Band 6 Junior Sister/Junior Charge Nurse has arisen to work as part of a senior team on a fast-paced Oncology and Haematology outpatient unit.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will work as part of an experienced senior team, delivering high standards of care and support to staff within the unit and the B7 Senior Sister.
You will be expected to work as part of a team, have excellent communication skills, be highly motivated and enthusiastic, and keen to develop knowledge and skills around senior leadership and Oncology and Haematology - SACT.
* Managerial responsibility for the nursing team within the unit
* Nurse-led outpatient unit
* Caring for Oncology and Haematology patients
* Take responsibility and take charge in the absence of the Senior Sister

Person Specification
* Has NMC registration
* Cannulation and Venepuncture skills
* SACT trained
* Some leadership experience
* Experience with DATIX
* Knowledge of governance and audits
* Ability to manage difficult situations
* Some managerial experience
* Clinical Governance experience
* Understanding of DATIX
* Education/Teaching experience
