The role operates within the Runcorn Packaging Site, acting as the contact point between Runcorn and third parties, including Statutory Bodies, Third Party Accreditation Bodies, and Central functions.

Diageo Runcorn is a FSSC 22000 accredited factory. Food safety is maintained through a well-managed HACCP plan, adherence to comprehensive pre-requisite programmes, and a robust internal audit system.
Your impact on the Role:
Reporting to the Governance Manager and working across all levels of the site, you will lead, develop, implement, and maintain food safety management systems to ensure compliance with, and enhance performance against, Diageo Global Risk Management Standards, ISO 9001:2015, and FSSC22000.
You will foster a culture of food safety compliance through daily operations, supported by a rigorous internal audit schedule.
Leading ISC Governance food safety initiatives.
Managing through others and influencing at all levels to drive continuous improvement in standards and compliance as part of the site’s operational ethos.
Other key responsibilities:
* Implementing strategic plans to enhance food safety, including conducting food safety and hygiene audits.
* Maintaining the food safety management system to ensure regulatory compliance and meet internal and external accreditation requirements.
* Performing microbiological analyses according to schedule.
* Completing food safety and audit reports as scheduled.
Qualification & Experience:
At least one GCE “A” Level qualification or equivalent in a science subject, with relevant experience in a food-related business in Quality Assurance or Microbiology roles.
Experience with food safety management systems (HACCP), microbiological laboratory work, standard development, and auditing.
Knowledge of relevant management systems such as ISO 9001:2015, FSSC22000, or BRC, with a good understanding of statutory requirements affecting the business.
Ability to challenge and influence employees, peers, and senior managers objectively and constructively.
Capability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment.
