We are looking for a Junior Designer to be based in either our Edinburgh or Glasgow office. Job Role As a Junior Designer, you will be working to deliver a number of national and international projects running simultaneously. To deliver these projects, you will be engaging with key stakeholders across various departments throughout all stages of a project. You will be working on a variety of project scales, working closely with consultant teams for design coordination and regulatory approvals, all within tight deadlines. Day to day tasks include creating product specification packs, space planning, visualising products and settings, product take-offs, as well as conducting research and creating supporting presentational documents. This role will allow you to learn and develop your product knowledge and skills, working alongside an experienced team that provides varied opportunities and unique challenges. You will be exposed to a range of UK and European suppliers Tsunami work alongside. The ideal candidate will have a background and some experience within commercial office design with at least 1 years experience or placement in a design practice. Primary Tasks Taking ownership of specification packs, proposals and product playbook for client review and sign off. Furniture overlays, space planning and installation, including O&M manuals Creating 2D blocks, technical drawings and take-offs, including RAF/grommet layouts Liaising with manufacturers and suppliers to arrange samples Visualisation and graphics for client presentations Conducting and collating research to present to the client and wider business. Co-ordinating the overall design process from the initial brief; to the final install, ensuring a high standard of design support is provided throughout Everyday design support for the wider Scottish team Attend workshops, client meetings, and site to review and sign off projects alongside relevant Tsunami project management team Essential Skills: Background and experience within Commercial Office Design 1 year experience or placement in a design practice. Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) Experience in 2D AutoCAD and 3Ds Max/VRay Attention to detail and excellent proofing skills Technical understanding of current space planning regulations Ability to work with colleagues to deliver project and operational performance Efficient time management and organisation, running multiple projects simultaneously Demonstrated high performance standards and meeting deadlines Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Comfortable and confident in presenting to clients Self-starting approach and eagerness show initiative Problem solving mindset and willingness to learn and develop further A high level of enthusiasm and creativity is essential Essential Software Requirements: Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) AutoCAD - 2D 3Ds Max Vray Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) Desirable Software Requirements: AutoCAD – 3D Revit SketchUp VRay CET Designer P-Con Pay range and compensation package: This is a permanent full-time position based in either our Edinburgh or Glasgow office, with hybrid working.
