About the Opportunity
A growing healthcare market research consultancy is seeking a Senior Research Director to join its leadership team.
This is a senior seller-doer role, combining client ownership, research leadership, and business development. You will lead a portfolio of client relationships, drive qualitative innovation, and play a key role in expanding the firm’s market presence.
The Role
As a Senior Research Director, you will take responsibility for both winning and delivering work, acting as a senior partner to clients while shaping the future of the business.
Key responsibilities include:
Client & Commercial Leadership
* Own and grow a book of market research business
* Lead client relationships and act as a trusted strategic advisor
* Drive new business development and expand existing accounts
* Contribute to proposals, pitches, and programme renewals
Research Leadership
* Lead end-to-end market research engagements (qualitative focus with quantitative fluency)
* Drive innovation in qualitative methodologies and tools
* Ensure delivery of high-quality, actionable insights
* Oversee project execution, ensuring timelines, quality, and client expectations are met
Team Leadership
* Manage and develop a team of 2–3 direct reports
* Provide mentorship, training, and performance development
* Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture
Thought Leadership & Growth
* Develop thought leadership content (e.g. whitepapers, insights, market POVs)
* Identify opportunities to expand service offerings and client engagement
* Contribute to broader business strategy and growth initiatives
What We’re Looking For
* 10+ years’ experience in healthcare/pharma market research
* Strong expertise in qualitative research methodologies (with quantitative understanding)
* Proven experience in a seller-doer capacity (business development + delivery)
* Demonstrated success in managing and growing client relationships
* Strong leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop teams
* Commercially minded with the ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels
