About the Role

We're looking for a qualified Social Worker to join the West Locality Learning Disabilities Team in Haringey. This team forms part of the Haringey Learning Disability Partnership and works closely with health colleagues to deliver high-quality, person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities.

You'll manage a varied caseload, carry out complex assessments, and work directly with individuals, families, and carers to achieve outcomes that promote independence, dignity, and inclusion. This is an opportunity to contribute to an evolving model of locality-based social work that focuses on strengths-based approaches and collaborative working.

What We're Looking For

You'll be a registered Social Worker with relevant experience in adult social care and a sound understanding of key legislation, including:

1. Care Act 2014

2. Mental Capacity Act 2005

3. Mental Health Act 1983

4. Human Rights Act 1998

5. Equalities Act 2010

6. GDPR 2018

We're looking for someone who can:

7. Undertake high-quality assessments and interventions

8. Support people in crisis and manage complex cases

9. Work in a strengths-based, outcome-focused way

10. Maintain strong multi-agency relationships

11. Uphold anti-discriminatory practice

12. Keep up to date with research, policy and best practice

13. Contribute to team development and service improvement

Experience as a Practice Educator or DoLS Assessor is desirable but not essential.

Why Work for Haringey?

Haringey is a borough full of energy, diversity and ambition. As we prepare to become the 2027 London Borough of Culture, we're proud to invest in services that empower our communities - and in the staff who help deliver them.

We offer:

14. Up to 31 days' annual leave (plus bank holidays)

15. Local Government Pension Scheme

16. Health and wellbeing support

17. Hybrid working opportunities (where applicable)

18. Ongoing training and development

19. Staff discounts across leisure, culture and retail

We're committed to equality, diversity and inclusion in our workplace and welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
