Teaching Assistant – Behaviour Support Location: NP16 Contract Type: Full Time / Part Time Start: ASAP Pay: Weekly pay Teaching Personnel are recruiting a Teaching Assistant with strong behaviour management skills to support pupils in primary schools across the Chepstow. This role is suited to someone confident working with children who may present with challenging behaviour, emotional regulation difficulties or additional learning needs. We need someone with a genuine “get up and go” attitude — proactive, calm under pressure and ready to step in when needed. The Role Provide 1:1 and small group behaviour support Support pupils who may display challenging or disruptive behaviour Help pupils regulate emotions and re-engage with learning Work closely with the class teacher to maintain structure and consistency Follow behaviour plans and school policies Support across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 where required Contribute positively to a busy classroom environment The Ideal Candidate Experience supporting children with behaviour needs, ALN or SEMH Calm, firm and consistent approach Able to de-escalate situations effectively Proactive — able to anticipate issues before they escalate Confident working in fast-paced environments Strong communication skills Resilient and reliable Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply) Experience may come from: Schools Learning Resource Bases Care settings Youth work Residential or support roles What We Offer Weekly pay Free CPD including Behaviour Management & Safeguarding Ongoing consultant support Long-term opportunities If you are confident managing behaviour and thrive in structured, high-support environments, we would like to hear from you.
