A client within the Public Sector based in Devon is currently recruiting for a Planning Officer to join their Development Management Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience working within a local authority planning environment. The Role Key purpose of the role is to support the delivery of an effective and efficient planning service through the processing and assessment of planning applications, preparation of reports, and provision of professional planning advice to applicants, developers, and stakeholders. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: • Processing and preparing reports on planning applications, listed building applications, advertisement consent applications, consultations, and legal agreements. • Ensuring applications comply with Town and Country Planning legislation and Development Plan policies. • Providing professional advice to applicants, developers, agents, and members of the public regarding planning and enforcement matters. • Undertaking negotiations and consultations with developers and stakeholders to support positive development outcomes. • Liaising with internal departments, County Council officers, statutory consultees, and Town/Parish Councils.
