Job Description: Maintenance Technician
The Recruitment Group is proudly working with an established company looking to expand their maintenance team due to business growth. As a maintenance engineer/technician, you will be responsible for maintaining specific machinery, problem solving, continuous improvement, and preventative maintenance schedules.
Position: Maintenance Technician / WF10 / Engineering / Permanent
Pay & Hours:
* £40-44K DOE, with potential increase after probation
* 4 on 4 off, 7:00 – 19:00, rotating days and nights
* External training programs available
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure efficient and safe operation of equipment, minimizing unplanned downtime.
* Maintain the condition and reliability of production equipment, ensuring safety measures are in place.
* Identify potential issues proactively and rectify or avoid unplanned stoppages.
* Implement short-term fixes and plan long-term solutions.
* Perform quality testing and checks post-maintenance to prevent recurring issues.
* Work independently with strong fault-finding skills to resolve issues safely and effectively.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements.
* Monitor and record quality parameters, report issues accordingly.
* Carry out preventative maintenance as scheduled, maintaining proper records.
* Collaborate with the maintenance team and communicate effectively across shifts.
* Coordinate with machine operators to ensure smooth process operation.
Essential Qualifications:
* Electrical training (e.g., C&G, NVQ Level 3, ONC) covering machine control, sensors, fault finding.
* Mechanical training (e.g., C&G, NVQ Level 3, ONC) in bearings, shaft fitting/alignment, assembly.
* Safety certification (e.g., IOSH or equivalent).
* Apprentice trained.
* Engineering Degree or Electrical/Mechanical HNC.
* NEBOSH certification.
* HACCP Level 3.
* Fabrication and Welding skills.
