Join to apply for the Specialist Occupational Therapist role at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Orthopaedics and Surgery team within our Orthopaedic/Surgical Unit. This is a new and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated OT to join our dedicated department.
We are committed to patient-centred care and support our clinicians to lead and deliver excellent and compassionate services. As a Band 6 OT you will be part of a team comprising three support workers, one junior Band 5, and three other Band 6 OTs, under the lead of two experienced Band 7 Team Leads.
Responsibilities
* Assess and treat patients as a valued member of the Occupational Therapy team.
* Prevent de-conditioning and facilitate timely and effective patient discharge.
* Manage ongoing referrals to other agencies.
* Supervise Band 5s and, as opportunities arise, supervise and educate Occupational Therapy Students on placement.
* Contribute to development, administration and provision of a specialist Occupational Therapy service with a varied caseload, managing complex assessments with predominantly physical conditions.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Band 6 Occupational Therapist or equivalent with readiness to take on Band 6 responsibilities in Orthopaedics and Surgery.
* Experience in assessment and treatment of patients with physical, psychosocial, emotional and social considerations.
* Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and support supervision of junior staff and students.
