Proposal Bid Manager – Mott MacDonald
Join the award‑winning win community at Mott MacDonald, a global engineering and consultancy firm. As a Proposal Bid Manager, you will support and lead the proposal and bidding process across a range of sectors, helping to secure new business for the Europe and UK (EUNA) region.
Role Overview
• Drive rigorous proposal and bidding processes for diverse pursuits. • Work across five sector‑focused win teams to capture, plan, and deliver high‑quality proposals. • Provide coaching and line‑management in due course. • Collaborate with technical teams, bid and project delivery staff, and the regional win community.
Key Responsibilities
* Support capture planning and evidence gathering to identify differentiation opportunities.
* Develop clear bid strategies, storyboards, and win themes with technical leads.
* Ensure proposal governance, best practice, and review processes are embedded and followed.
* Own the creation and production of compelling responses, leading authorial work and review cycles.
* Manage proposal team performance, providing early intervention where needed.
* Share lessons and best practice across the regional win community.
Candidate Specification
* Experience managing pursuits within the infrastructure industry.
* Deep understanding of public and sector procurement processes.
* Proven ability to plan, manage, and control bids using industry best practice.
* Strong collaboration and relationship‑building skills with internal stakeholders.
* Excellent verbal and written communication, delivering quality deliverables with detail.
Desirable
* APMP qualification or working towards foundation level.
* Additional proposal or behavioural training (Shipley, Miller Heiman, Mindflick, etc.).
* Proficiency with relevant software/systems (CRM, AI, knowledge management).
* Persuasive communication style that wins over stakeholders.
