Job Description
* We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to take full end‑to‑end responsibility for the delivery of an onshore wind project, acting as the client‑side lead overseeing an appointed EPC contractor.
* This role carries overall accountability for the project from mobilisation, through construction and commissioning, to final handover. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
* This is a senior role suited to an individual comfortable carrying full ownership of a major infrastructure project.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Leadership & Accountability
* Act as the single point of accountability for the onshore wind project
* Provide leadership across the full project lifecycle, from pre‑construction through COD and close‑out
* Manage internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and reporting
* Drive a culture of safety, quality and delivery excellence
* EPC & Contract Management
* Oversee and manage the EPC contractor throughout all phases of delivery
* Lead contract administration, including change control, variations, claims and dispute avoidance
* Ensure contractor performance aligns with contractual, commercial and programme requirements
Project Controls & Governance
* Own overall programme, cost, risk and reporting responsibilities
* Ensure robust project controls are in place, including forecasting and risk management
* Identify and escalate issues early, implementing mitigation strategies as required
* Construction, Commissioning & Handover
* Oversee all construction activities, ensuring compliance with H&S, quality and environmental standards
* Lead the commissioning, energisation and testing phases
* Manage final handover and close‑out activities, including documentation and acceptance
Technical Oversight
* Provide informed oversight across all technical disciplines
* Strong understanding of electrical scope including grid connection, substations, balance of plant and energisation
* Solid working knowledge of civil works, including foundations, access roads, drainage and crane hardstands
* Ability to challenge EPC technical proposals and construction methodologies
* Essential
* Significant experience delivering onshore wind projects
* Demonstrable experience overseeing an EPC contractor on large infrastructure or energy projects
* Proven track record of full lifecycle project delivery, including construction and commissioning
* Strong understanding of:
* Contract and commercial management
* Project controls (schedule, cost, risk)
* Construction and commissioning activities
* Experience operating in a role with full responsibility and accountability for project outcomes
* Technical
* Electrical bias preferred, with broad technical understanding across civils and construction
* Comfortable engaging with engineers, contractors, project controls and commercial teams
