Job Description
Brakes are currently recruiting for a Quality Control Assistant to join the team on site in Wigan, on a Full Time Permanent basis.
In this role you will carry out QC Assessments of meat products to ensure Quality Vs Specification and reject when out of spec. You will monitor a range of raw meat products to ensure consistent customer quality delivered. As a Quality Control Assistant you liaise and report the findings to the Sysco GB Technical Teams as well as supporting any requests made by them.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Carry out product assessments against specifications and conduct store walks.
2. Process and report on meat leakers.
3. Analyse Customer complaint data.
4. Liaise with the meat and poultry category Technical Managers (TMs) and suppliers re specification and product standards.
5. Carry out any requests from TMs, including weekly surveillance photographs.
6. Admin of rejection and QC Hold process to business and suppliers.
7. Carry out follow up assessments where appropriate on next batches.
8. Housekeeping of the QC facility and monitoring of equipment.
9. Support any training given at the depot in ensuring damages and leakers are kept to a minimum.
10. To work with NDC QCs, TMs, and the depot Management team.
11. Ad hoc requests to support Technical Function at depot as requested by the Quality Supervisor.
You;
Essential to your success is experience in food operations or working with food, along with basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word. A background in the food industry / meat industry would be advantageous. You are customer-centric, always putting both internal and external customers first, with a genuine passion for food and a people-oriented approach. Driven by performance, you consistently aim to deliver excellent results. You communicate effectively and professionally, whether by phone or email, and are self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously. Your tenacity and flexibility help you adapt to changing demands and challenges.
As an independent worker, reporting into an off-site Quality Supervisor, you must be a self-motivator and happy to work on your own, whilst supported by wider team.
