Triage Clinician | Bracknell Urgent Care Centre | Fixed-term 12 months | Part-time 34.5 hours per week
An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced nurse, to join our team at Bracknell UCC as a Triage Clinician on a fixed-term contract, to cover Maternity Leave.
The successful candidate will be able to assess adult and paediatric patients, providing advice, signposting and repatriation, where appropriate, determining their need for immediate medical attention. Patients once assessed will be prioritised ensuring effective and timely review based on their clinical need.
The post holder will work as part of the MDT at the centre, supporting the team, ensuring effective communication and safe management of the patients at all times throughout the shift. The role will require the individual to participate in training given in house and attend any necessary courses that are required.
This is a fixed-term 12 months contract to cover Maternity Leave. It would preferably start in June 2026.
It is a part time job. We have 34.5 hours available per week. The full-time equivalent if 40 hours per week. Applicants must be available to cover shifts on Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8 am to 8:30 pm.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
1. Work as part of the MDT providing support and advice
2. Deliver excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills,
3. Perform an initial assessment, record the vital signs and prioritise adults and children who present to the service with minor illness and at times injuries
4. Advise, signpost and repatriate patients where it is safe to do so.
5. Utilise the Australasian Triage Score for prioritising patients
6. Support and promote adult and children safeguarding processes within the service
7. Be actively involved in audit
8. Attend any necessary training that is deemed important to the role
9. Ensure that Mandatory training is completed
10. Provide training and development to other staff members
11. Escalate any clinical issues to the person in charge
12. Support the implementation of the Clinical Strategy for OneMedicare
Therefore you must:
13. Have a registration with the NMC / HCPC
14. Have post registration face-to-face triage experience
15. Triage training
16. An in depth understanding of NEWS2/ PEWS
17. Experience of working with SystemOne
18. Show evidence of recent training and development or courses
19. Show evidence of continued professional development
20. Have good time management skills
21. Have previous experience working as part of a team
22. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
23. Have knowledge of urgent care clinical conditions
24. Have a good understanding or previous experience in triage
About Bracknell Urgent Care Centre
We operate out of a modern, purpose built facility with free parking and excellent transport links. BUCC offers a high standard of unscheduled care from early morning to late evening for patients attending with a wide variety of undifferentiated conditions. The centre is staffed primarily by our team of experienced Clinicians with additional support from other clinical and non-clinical members of staff. Within our Bracknell Urgent Care Centre we are building a well-established team of Salaried GPs, ANPs, and Practice Nurses.
