To assist in the daily cleaning of all public rooms, cabins, alleyways, pantries and communal toilets. To assist in the smooth transition of scientists between cruises. To assist the Senior Steward in making inventories and requisitions. To assist in the laundering of all soiled linen in ships laundry. To assist with the loading of ships stores while in port May be required to work night shift on science cruise when required To act as a member of the ship's emergency first aid party if required. To undertake any other duties consistent with the key responsibilities and duties of the post, as directed by the Ship Master. Skills Specification Essential Seafarer Medical Certificate (ENG1) without restrictions STCW basic training to STCW 2010 (PST, FPFF, EFA & PSSR) STCW Proficiency in Security Awareness Evidence of continual professional development Award in Food Safety in Catering Level 2 (MCA Recognised) Experience of catering at sea Strong awareness of health, safety, security and environmental issues.
