Job Description
As the Senior Project Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the establishment of the programme, monitoring, control, and reporting systems to comply with the Contract, facilitating the successful delivery of a Major Project. You will leverage your knowledge and experience to support the most efficient and effective project delivery.
We would also consider a Project Controls Engineer ready to step up.
The role is based in Teesside with a requirement to be on site at least 3 days a week.
Responsibilities
* Produce weekly & monthly reports, ensuring validation and timely submission for internal and external reporting requirements.
* Ensure consistent application of project controls processes and overall integration of performance information.
* Support governance to ensure robust cost and schedule performance.
* Undertake Earned Value Analysis.
* Predict the basis of Estimates at Completion (EAC) using industry-recognized approaches, including the latest resourced schedule and EVM productivity, to ensure accurate forecasting.
* Propose Key Performance Indicators and monitor their progress.
* Support and advise on defining Project Controls, procedures, and standards.
* Assist in developing resource-loaded schedules.
* Collaborate closely with the Project Controls Manager and Commercial Manager to maximize project potential.
* Coach and support junior team members.
* Support the identification and implementation of best practices, procedures, tools, and systems for project controls.
* Assist in risk and opportunities management.
* Contribute to training preparation and delivery.
* Support facilities Contractors with their Project Controls requirements and audit their procedures as needed.
* Ensure understanding and communication of reasons and factors influencing changes to the project's baseline plan, including implications.
* Challenge schedule and cost variances against the baseline plan.
* Support integration of third-party schedules and data into the overall project plan.
* Interface regularly with the commercial team to maintain an aligned financial position with the project plan.
Qualifications
* HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline or relevant experience.
* Experience in project controls, proficient in interpreting cost, estimating, scheduling, programming, and risk tools.
* Knowledge of Earned Value Management.
* Experience in cost control and forecasting.
* Strong project reporting skills.
* Effective communication skills within teams and with stakeholders.
* High numeracy and analytical skills.
* Experience in Management of Change, including identification, analysis, and evaluation.
