Are you ready to have a meaningful impact on someone's life?
Are you compassionate to others?
Are you dedicated to making a difference? Then we want to hear from you.
Our support workers are the heart of everything we do. We want you to empower the people we support to live their lives how they want to, whether that’s travelling the world or spending time in their local park! All we ask is that you have the commitment and drive to encourage and guide the people we support to make this happen.
Responsibilities
As a Support Worker, you will be involved in enabling the people we support to live independently and participate in their communities. This includes supporting activities at home and in the community, encouraging involvement in local events, and using a digital app to access care and support plans.
At our services in Ilminster we have 9 houses situated within a communal courtyard and 2 outreach services supporting a variety of people who all enjoy living life to the fullest. The site is a happy and fun environment with lots of activities happening throughout the day, evening and on the weekends. The people we support have different interests such as beach BBQs, cinema trips, meeting with friends, military festivals, photography, cooking and more.
The people we support love being involved in the local community, whether attending festivals, sharing meals with neighbors, joining clubs, attending community events or visiting the town carnival. They are keen to try new things and be part of their community.
As part of your role, you will be using a digital app called Nourish, where all care and support plans of the people we support are held. Experience of using a digital or mobile app would be desirable; full training will be given.
Please note that this role will involve evening, weekend and bank holiday work as well as sleep-in shifts, so flexibility is essential.
