JOB SUMMARY / MAIN PURPOSE Greater Shankill Partnership (GSP) is a community led regeneration agency, with a particular focus on enhancing the life chances of children & young people including programmes such as Early Years / Sure Start, Integrated Services and leading on the Greater Shankill Children & Young People's Zone The post-holder will contribute, where relevant, to the design, development and co-ordination of strategies for the social, economic, physical and environmental regeneration of the Greater Shankill area through the implementation of the Neighbourhood Renewal Action Plan. This will include research work with other partners to identify local needs and, evidence-based programmes to meet those needs. Neighbourhood Renewal Officer is responsible for the coordination of local groups focused on neighbourhood regeneration. KEY TASKS Supporting the Partnership and the agreed task groups in the development of strategic objectives relating to urban regeneration. To provide support to the task groups, ensuring that meetings are organised and operate effectively and records are maintained. Enabling the Partnership to meet its obligations, where relevant, as outlined in its funded contracts. Supporting the delivery of the operational regeneration proposals and plans. Organising and facilitating the Greater Shankill Community Convention, when required, as a voice for the Greater Shankill community on issues affecting regeneration. To assist in the production of local action plans and community-based research that will engage local people in the shaping of community provision To promote neighbourhood renewal strategy through seminars, workshops, social media etc. To provide agencies and communities with a clearly identified contact point for neighbourhood renewal actions at local level To develop and enhance working relationships within the local area and between the area groups To assist in the reporting of outcomes, monitoring and evaluation. To facilitate, where relevant, responses to consultations on regeneration/ planning projects To build regeneration capacity through partnerships at local level. To provide information on the activities and plans of the Partnership to the various stakeholders, the public and the media To network with other Partnerships, including the other Belfast Area Partnerships, statutory bodies, voluntary organisations and the private sector. To attend and report back on conferences, seminars, etc, as required by the Partnership. To carry out any reasonable duties as required Essential Criteria Educated to Degree Level (e.g. social science, community development, community relations) OR A minimum of 5 years experience in a related field. At least 2 years experience in each of the following: Demonstrable experience of community development projects Demonstrable experience of working with disadvantaged communities A strong understanding of government policy relating to urban regeneration An awareness and understanding of Greater Shankill Partnership and the Neighbourhood Renewal structure A good understanding of the community and voluntary sector specifically within Greater Shankill and the Belfast area Ability to liaise and communicate effectively with a wide range of key stakeholders Excellent IT skills Familiar with the use of social media platforms A proven ability to write plans and reports Excellent communication skills Desirable Criteria Experience of managing community funding programmes
