Family Intervention Worker, Tameside
Pay rate £16.78 per hour

Vitalis is recruiting an experienced Family Intervention Worker to work in an Early Help Team in Tameside. The role involves organising, supervising, recording, and assessing family time with an awareness of safeguarding children. The worker will function as part of a team, carrying out duties necessary for the service's daily operation.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
* Plan and provide child-centered supervision of family time for children with parents, family, friends, and carers, working with court orders and referring agencies.
* Accurately record family time sessions and discussions with professionals and agencies, in line with policies.
* Assess child and family time sessions for court proceedings and prepare reports for courts and referral agencies.
* Manage caseloads, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
* Intervene and act according to safeguarding procedures within the centre and in line with local safeguarding policies.
* Provide transport as required, as part of a Care Plan.
* Participate in supervision, meetings, and development activities.
* Observe statutory regulations and policies relevant to the service area.
* Organize and prioritize workload independently, adopting a flexible approach.
* Support young people in maintaining family contact and rehabilitation plans.
* Encourage children and young people's participation in decision-making.
* Attend court as a representative of the Local Authority when needed.
* Undertake other duties reasonably required within the role.
This role is Monday-Friday, 9 am - 6 pm (36 hours). Most days will finish at 6 pm, especially during busy after-school family times. Hours will be discussed with the Team Manager. The role is office-based with some community work to facilitate family time.
