Sous Chef

Salary: £13.25–£15.00 per hour + tips

We are looking for a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills while supporting the Head Chef in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee food production, ensuring all dishes are prepared and presented to company standards and recipes
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment in line with food safety and sanitation regulations
* Work closely with the Head Chef to manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs
* Train, mentor, and support junior kitchen staff, encouraging their professional development
* Monitor food quality and consistency, making adjustments where required
* Assist in creating seasonal menus and new dishes that reflect customer preferences
* Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations at all times

Skills & Attributes

* Strong culinary expertise with knowledge of a wide range of cooking techniques
* Experience in a fast-paced kitchen, ideally in a supervisory or senior role
* Excellent understanding of food production processes, portion control, and plating standards
* Leadership ability with the skills to motivate, inspire, and manage a team
* In-depth knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure while maintaining high-quality output
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable dining experiences

Qualifications & Experience

* Minimum 2 years of kitchen experience (Sous Chef or similar role preferred)
* Proven ability to supervise and manage a team effectively
* Culinary experience in food preparation, cooking, and presentation
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
* Previous experience in a hospitality or restaurant environment
* Familiarity with kitchen operations and organisational processes

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £13.25-£15.00 per hour
