Do you want to make a meaningful impact by supporting children and young people with complex needs to thrive in mainstream educational settings?We are seeking a SEND Specialist Teacher to join a specialist inclusion service, working collaboratively with schools, families and professionals to promote inclusive practice and improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND.The RoleThis is a mobile role, combining school-based work, collaboration with professionals, and flexible working from home where appropriate. You will play a key part in building capacity across schools by delivering expert assessment, advice, modelling and training.Your responsibilities will include:Undertaking specialist SEND assessments for children and young people with complex needs, using a graduated and collaborative approachProviding advice, coaching and training to teachers and school staff on inclusive curriculum design and evidence-based strategiesDelivering and modelling high-quality, research-led specialist teachingSupporting schools to embed recommendations through ongoing monitoring and quality assuranceContributing to EHCP assessments, reviews and statutory processesDeveloping and delivering training programmes and practical resourcesWorking closely with parents/carers, schools and multi-disciplinary partnersLine managing and supporting specialist outreach staffPromoting high aspirations and advocating for inclusive practice at all timesSome flexibility is required, including attendance at meetings or training outside of normal school hours on occasion.About YouWe're looking for a skilled and reflective professional who brings both expertise and empathy to their work. You will have:Essential:Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)A post-graduate qualification in Vision ImpairmentProven experience assessing and supporting children and young people with SEND/MSIStrong knowledge of the National Curriculum and inclusive adaptationsConfidence working directly with pupils, families and school staffExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writingA strong understanding of SEND legislation and statutory guidanceAbility to line manage and work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary teamFull UK driving licence and access to a vehicleDesirable:Experience developing and delivering professional trainingCommitment to ongoing professional development in SENDSafeguarding & ComplianceThis role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check including barred list checks.
