Working Style:
Support your local community by joining Essex County Council’s School Crossing Patrol Team at Galleywood Infants & St Michael's Junior. Assist in ensuring the safety of pedestrians crossing the road before and after school.
We seek punctual, reliable, approachable individuals who enjoy engaging with the public.
This position involves approximately 6.66 hours per week, with holiday pay included. You should be available during the 39 weeks of the academic year, roughly between 08:30-09:05 in the morning and 14:45-15:30 in the afternoon, depending on site requirements. Uniform, equipment, and training are provided.
Responsibilities:
* Consider the needs of people with disabilities, especially mobility-impaired pedestrians.
* Maintain contact with the schools served by the crossing.
* Assess risks regularly, report problems and defects.
* Assist in preparing reports on incidents at the crossing.
* Maintain uniform and equipment in good condition, request replacements when needed.
* Give clear signals to drivers, ensuring traffic remains stopped until pedestrians have crossed.
