PRINCIPAL SOFTWARE ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking an individual who takes ownership and follows through, actively promotes excellence, and is willing to question the existing norms when improvement is necessary. The main purpose of the role is to provide technical leadership, work closely with project managers to ensure that all 3rd party provided software components have clear acceptance criteria, and are successfully integrated into a solution that meets the design requirements.
As a Principal Software Engineer, you will work with cross-functional teams, as well as collaborate with developers and internal teams on current and future roadmaps.
The successful Principal Software Engineer must keep up with emerging technologies, and supervise the activities of less experienced team members or other colleagues to maintain operational feasibility through analysis, problem definition, solution development, and propose a solution.
Key responsibilities:
* Provide expert software engineering consultancy and leadership to critical engineering programs.
* Ensure that an assured engineering livecycle is applied, including requirements specification, design, production, test, integration and assurance.
* Develop delivery strategy, roadmaps and work breakdown structures ensuring work is delivered to requisite time, cost and quality.
* Representing at stakeholder meetings, Governance forums, Design Reviews and Readiness Assessment activities.
* Leading and managing teams of engineers.
PRINCIPAL SOFTWARE ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS
* In-depth knowledge and evidence of the application of Systems and Software Engineering processes on large and complex projects.
* Owning and delivering high level design documentation, roadmaps and statements of work for complex software systems (e.g. in the telecommunication industry).
* Through-life design, integration and delivery of complex software systems ideally including network management and orchestration, OSS / BSS.
* ITIL, OSS / BSS
* Experience in the telecommunication industry.
* Integrating COTS software products
* Project delivery in Agile engineering environments.
