Exam Invigilator – Secondary Schools

The role
We are recruiting Exam Invigilators to support secondary schools across Northumberland, North Tyneside, and Newcastle. This is a flexible role ideal for individuals looking for seasonal, short-term, or ongoing work during GCSE, A-Level, and mock exams.
Exam invigilators ensure exams run smoothly, fairly, and in line with JCQ regulations, providing a calm and organised environment for students.
Key responsibilities
1. Supervise pupils during examinations in line with JCQ regulations
2. Distribute and collect exam papers and materials
3. Ensure a quiet, controlled, and fair exam environment
4. Report any issues or irregularities to the Exams Officer
5. Assist with setting up and clearing exam rooms
The ideal candidate
6. Reliable, punctual, and professional
7. Confident working with secondary-aged students
8. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
9. Previous invigilation experience is helpful but not essential
10. Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
