The Role
We are seeking an experienced and committed Social Worker to manage a caseload of around 17 families within the Family Help Service. The majority of cases will be low-level Child in Need (CiN), with one or two cases under Child Protection. This role requires a strong focus on engagement, assessment, and collaboration with families and multi-agency partners to deliver high-quality support.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and maintain a caseload of approximately 17 families, focusing on Child in Need cases with some Child Protection responsibilities.
* Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, and deliver interventions tailored to each family's needs.
* Work collaboratively with children, families, and professionals across health, education, and community services.
* Monitor and review cases regularly to ensure progress and safety, adjusting plans as necessary.
* Prepare reports for conferences and court proceedings as required.
* Ensure all work complies with statutory guidance, local policies, and safeguarding standards.
* Participate actively in team meetings, supervision, and professional development activities.
Person Specification
* Qualified Social Worker with current HCPC registration.
* Proven experience working within Children's Services, ideally with Child in Need and Child Protection cases.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively.
* Strong organisational skills to manage a mixed caseload effectively and meet deadlines.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and families.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Flexibility and resilience in a demanding but rewarding environment.
