Overview

We are looking for a Legal Cashier to join our busy Finance team in central Leeds on a 12-month fixed term basis. We need a confident and flexible individual who thrives when working as part of a team. You'll preferably have experience in legal cashiering, although candidates with experience in bank reconciliations will be considered.

Our Finance team in Leeds is a large team made up of Accounts Payable, Database and Billing, Credit Control and Client and Office Accounts. The team provides centralised support to all the UK offices and ensures they provide a world class service to the firm\'s internal and external clients.


Our Opportunity

In this role your primary responsibilities will be supporting the cashiering team with administrative and compliance duties. Specific tasks include:

* Monitoring daily control reports and reviewing transaction postings to check for errors and/or SRA Accounts Rules breaches.
* Filing and monitoring bank statements/correspondence and updating bank mandates.
* Assisting with client and office account cashiering when needed and with the processing of soft cost recharges.


Hours

Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm. From time to time, flexibility with hours may be required, especially at month end.


Qualifications & Skills

* Experience in legal cashiering is preferred; candidates with experience in bank reconciliations will be considered.
* Strong communication skills to interact with people at all levels and interpret instructions.
* Confidentiality is essential at all times.
* Ability to use initiative, excellent attention to detail, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
* Confident approach as the role involves making external calls to banks and suppliers to request copy statements; flexibility for ad hoc duties.
