Job Opportunity: Lighting Technician
We have an opportunity for an experienced Lighting Technician to join our team in the Yorkshire North East Region. As a Lighting Technician, you will work alongside other professional Engineers, supporting the development and delivery of a wide variety of Renewal and Improvement schemes to ensure that the Strategic Road Network safely meets the requirements of our customers now and into the future.
Throughout the planning and development stage of a project, you will provide support in identifying and developing early solutions for highways assets, working with key stakeholders including project teams and third parties to coordinate works across the region, and providing technical support as needed.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply and develop your engineering and asset management knowledge, skills, and experience within a progressive organization investing billions across the strategic road network.
Requirements:
* You must have a full driving license with no more than 3 points, as driving is part of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support in asset studies and survey works management
* Evaluate asset needs for future maintenance and renewals
* Assist in developing early solutions for renewals, including documentation and evidence gathering
* Support the development of technical briefs for renewals work
* Maintain roads asset data and condition information in relevant databases
About you:
* Level 3 Qualification, BTEC, NVQ, or equivalent
* Knowledge of Design Manual for Road & Bridges standards for Road Lighting
* Understanding of highways assets lighting and electrical installations, including asset condition assessment
* Understanding of value management and cost-benefit analysis
* Experience in infrastructure design or traffic engineering; knowledge of CDM 2015 and BS7671 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations
