To provide appropriate advice, assistance and support to enable them to meet their practical, physical and emotional needs. To act as an appropriate role model.
THIS ROLE IS FOR NIGHT WORK
FRIDAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY 8.30pm- 3.30am (3 x 7 hour shifts)

This is on a self employed basis.
Pay is reviewed annually in September
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
* To make sure the young people are in their accommodation by an agreed time, you will do this by physically checking each person is their own room.
* To monitor visitors to the premises to ensure the safety of the young people.
* Liaise with other professionals in a timely manner if young people are not in placement at the agreed time.
* To provide a caring, supportive and nurturing environment in which young people can feel safe, secure and free from harm.
* To develop positive and trust relationships with young people providing advice, guidance and assistance where appropriate
* To explore the consequences of both acceptable and unacceptable behaviour to enable young people to make reasoned decisions over their actions.
* To support young people in practical matters relating to independent living
* To comply with and implement Assist Care Teams policies and procedures.
* Undertake training in line with the Assist Care Team staff development policies and complete induction and basic training within agreed timescales.
* Empowering young people and facilitating their active involvement in the decision making about their lives and future
* To develop a responsible attitude with residents with regard to the fabric, furnishings, equipment, supplies and services in/or to the establishment
* The duties and responsibilities listed above describe the post as it is at present. The post holder is expected to accept any reasonable alterations that may from time to time be necessary.
TEAMWORK
* Being aware of the aims and objectives of Assist Care Team and working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve them.
* Attending and contributing to regular supervision sessions in line with Assist Care Teams Staff Development Policy
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Receiving training appropriate to the role and maintaining an up to date training profile
* Responsible for accurate record keeping and reports.
* This role may involve liaison with Police and other professionals and therefore a professional communication manner is required.
* This role is a lone worker role.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
* This post requires the holder be flexible and will sometimes mean covering other local areas to ensure the business needs are met.
* In accordance with the guidelines on Health and Safety, to accept responsibility for working within these guidelines and reporting any concerns to the Project Manager.
* This post requires the holder to have a clear DBS check and maintain this on the update service.

DISCLOSURE BARRING SERVICE (DBS)
Safeguarding children and adults is of utmost importance to Assist Care Team. Assist Care Team expects employees to abide by legislation and best practice to enable the organisation to achieve this. This role has been identified as requiring a DBS check. It is a contractual requirement for you to complete and returned as a DBS form as requested by Assist Care Team. If you require an enhanced or standard DBS check, you must sign up to and maintain registration with the DBS Update Service and allow the council to retain a copy of the disclosure certificate within your personal file.
Failure to disclose any caution, reprimand or conviction which is later identified on your DBS check may result in disciplinary action, suspension or dismissal. In line with the requirements of the Update Service you will be required to maintain your personal information. Assist Care Team will review your DBS record periodically to identify any changes in circumstances that may be detrimental to your employment.
