What will I be doing?
As a Mechanical Engineer (Internally the role is called Technical Plant Engineer) within the Energy Recovery & Processing Division, you'll be part of a vital & integral team, ensuring our sites operate at maximum efficiency. From processing resource into reusable materials to generating energy from landfill, you’ll provide critical mechanical technical support across our plants. This includes enhancing operational efficiency, supporting a variety of innovative waste-to-resource processes, and ensuring we meet and exceed industry standards. And let's be honest, who doesn't want to save the planet while getting paid for it? Your responsibilities will span mechanical engineering repairs, outage plans/fixes, project engineering with some project management, hands-on commissioning and breakdown support.
As this role does require field-based work across the UK, The Mechanical Engineer position allows for the option of being based at any of our energy recovery facilities across the UK.
What Experience/Background is required?
* We are looking for either Junior/Assistant Mechanical Engineers & relevant qualifications, such as a Graduate and/or Apprenticeship or Similar and you wish to move to a very supportive & progressive organisation, that will develop your skills Further
* We will also happily look at Time Served Mechanical Engineers, with a proven background in heavy industry & whom are looking for a field based role that will progress your career much further
* In either case we are looking for good base line knowledge of mechanical systems and principles (conveyors, pumps, fans, hydraulics, screws etc etc)
* A good positive attitude & willingness to learn & the right attitude to work in both a very friendly & fun team
* Experience of working within medium to heavy engineering/manufacturing or Power or Energy sectors
Desirable skills:
* Any experience of project work, but especially to learn this & apply it in the field
* Any background working on steam systems / pipework/ Pressure systems or aptitude to learn.
* Managing contractors/scopes of works, but again, this is something we can develop with you, if no prior experience.
