As we continue to grow, we’re looking for experienced and motivated Senior Control Systems Engineers to join our Energy team and lead the delivery of major projects within the renewable power generation and storage sector.
🔧 About the Role
You’ll take a technical leadership role, working closely with the Project Manager to guide a team through the full project lifecycle. This includes software design, development and implementation for DCS and PLC/SCADA control systems, with a strong focus on Siemens PCS7/Neo.
You’ll be responsible for:
* Leading engineering delivery across complex automation projects
* Designing, developing and testing control system software
* Producing FDS/SDS/Test Specifications
* Supporting and mentoring junior engineers
* Conducting FATs and technical reviews
* Ensuring high‑quality, compliant engineering outputs
⭐ What You’ll Bring
Essential:
* 5+ years’ experience with Siemens PCS7/Neo (APL, CMT, SFC, OS development)
* 5+ years’ experience with at least one additional PLC platform (TIA Portal, Rockwell, Schneider etc.)
* 5+ years’ experience with SCADA systems (Zenon, WinCC, FactoryTalk, Panorama etc.)
* Strong IEC61131 programming skills
* Experience producing detailed engineering documentation
* Ability to technically lead and support others
* Willingness to travel when required
* Full UK driving licence
Desirable: Experience with safety systems (IEC 61508/61511), renewable power controls, simulation tools (SIMIT/WinMOD), industrial comms protocols, virtualisation, cyber‑secure system delivery (IEC 62443), and legacy PLC platforms.
