Job Description

We are looking for a senior technical professional who will act as a trusted authority to the Healthcare Senior Leadership Team, NHS Trusts and key stakeholders.

The postholder will lead assurance activity, investigate technical issues, challenge poor practice and drive continuous technical excellence across healthcare accounts.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide senior technical leadership across healthcare accounts, ensuring compliance with statutory, safety and contractual requirements
2. Interpret compliance gaps and develop rectification and recovery plans for Key Asset Performance Documents (KAPDs)
3. Deliver engineering assurance reviews and agree action plans with Account Technical Leads and Key Account Directors
4. Lead operational technical investigations and provide clear, evidence-based outcomes
5. Produce high-quality engineering reports for SPVs, NHS Trusts and regulatory bodies
6. Challenge poor practice and enforce engineering discipline and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)
7. Build and maintain trusted relationships with SPVs, NHS estates teams and clinical stakeholders
8. Promote and sustain technical excellence across all healthcare engineering environments

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

9. Chartered Engineer (CEng) status through a recognised institution (e.g. IMechE, IET, CIBSE, IHEEM)
10. Strong experience working within healthcare engineering environments
11. Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risk, identify non-compliance and develop proportionate, compliant solutions
12. Ability to read, analyse and produce procedural and operational documentation
13. Proven capability to interpret NHS, governmental and technical regulations
14. Ability to explore complex situations, evaluate options and formulate effective plans that meet or exceed objectives
15. Must hold full UK driving licence - regular travel to client sites (car/car allowance provided)
