Bi-Lingual (English / German) Finance Manager / Accountant £50,000 p.a.
Experienced Finance Manager / Accountant with knowledge of German accounting systems and German tax law required for leading Germany based retail / wholesale business.
Remote based with travel to London and Germany.
The Role
The Finance Manager / Accountant will be handling the finance function of the business working a very comprehensive role and will manage two members of staff. The Finance Manager will be in a hands-on role and responsibilities will include:
1. VAT returns for monthly filing
2. Preparation of data for the annual financial statements and cooperation with the tax agent
3. Processing and control of financial figures
4. Accounting support
5. Budget and cash-flow preparation and control
6. Balance sheet reconciliation
7. Bank, customer and suppliers’ account reconciliation
8. Credit control management
9. Management accounts preparation
The Company
Our client is a wholesaler and retailer of footwear and bags, selling high quality products both direct to consumer and to a diverse account base of retailers across Germany and Austria. They have a strong sales base across fashion, agriculture and workwear, and are headquartered outside of Bonn. The company operates as a subsidiary of their UK based business, which covers the same work in the UK with an office in West Kensington.
The Person
You will be fully qualified or part qualified with experience of working in a similar role with strong knowledge of German accounting systems. Fluent in German and English with strong verbal & written communication skills and good IT skills you will also need:
10. Advanced Excel skills
11. Experience / knowledge of SAP B1 software
12. Analytical approach
13. Excellent attention to detail
