We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Infrastructure Engineer to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract. In this role, you will play a vital part in a number of technical projects aimed at improving the stability, security, and performance of our IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities
* Plan, implement, and manage the upgrade to a VMware vSphere environment to version 8.0
* Upgrade and migrate existing servers running on Microsoft Server 2012 to a newer version
* Design and implement comprehensive logging and alerting policies to proactively identify and address potential issues
* Evaluate and implement security improvements to strengthen our IT infrastructure
* Lead the implementation of MS Entra and advise on best practice
* Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues in a timely and efficient manner
* Document infrastructure changes and procedures for future reference
* Work collaboratively with other IT professionals to ensure smooth project execution
Skills And Experience
* Proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role
* Strong understanding of VMware technologies, including vSphere 8.0 and related products
* Experience with Dell VxRail hyper converged infrastructure solutions
* In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Server administration
* Proficiency in using PRTG or similar monitoring tools
* Experience with MS Entra
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* A proactive and results-oriented approach
