The Role
We are looking for an Archaeologist or Built Heritage Consultant to contribute to archaeological and heritage assessments, heritage statements, planning/consenting deliverables, data management, heritage gazetteers, and figures to support assessments. The role may also involve operating as an Archaeological Clerk of Works (ACoW).
We value collaboration and believe in the importance of in-person interactions for our culture and client delivery. Our hybrid working policy allows employees to split their work between offices/projects and remote locations.
Requirements
* Broad understanding of UK archaeology and heritage, including key legislation (UK planning framework).
* Experience in field archaeology and/or built heritage, understanding of ACoW roles, report writing skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, GIS, SharePoint, and Projectwise.
* Willingness and ability to travel across the UK for site and archive visits, which may require periods away from home.
* Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budgets.
* Knowledge of DMRB and/or GRIP Cultural Heritage requirements.
* Experience in stakeholder consultation and negotiation, e.g., with Local Government Archaeological/Heritage officers.
* Membership or progress towards membership of the Institute for Archaeologists (ACIfA level) or Institute for Historic Building Conservation.
